就在大家還在為華碩eeePC違反GPL協議爭論不休的時候，華碩官方已經做出了正式的回應。他們於27日在其官方網站上正式發布聲明。在聲明中他們寫道：就華碩目前說了解的，現在提供下載的源碼已經很完備了。假如你認為還有部分在恰當的開源源碼授權下應當提供下載的，可以聯繫我們，並請提供詳細的產品或者代碼模塊。我們會竭盡所能滿足你的要求，只要你的代碼部分是符合GPL協議的。

他們的聲明中還寫道：我們即將發布EeePC的開發包，這樣就使得開源社區可以很好的利用EeePC來進行開發，並且很容易使得相關開源軟體移植到EeePC平台上來。我們非常關注開源社區對我們EeePC平台的關心，希望大家不僅僅把EeePC當成一個商業產品，更應該該平台上施展拳腳，利用開源開發優勢，發揮該平台的潛能。
